Lallas A, et al. - For the diagnosis of melanoma in situ (MIS), experts investigated the diagnostic accuracy of dermoscopic criteria. Five main positive dermoscopic indicators of MIS were revealed in the multivariate analysis ie, atypical network, regression, irregular hyperpigmented areas, prominent skin markings, and angulated lines. When compared only with excised nevi, irregular hyperpigmented areas and prominent skin markings remained potent MIS indicators. For the diagnosis of MIS, clinicians ought to take into consideration the aforementioned dermoscopic indicators .
