Accuracy of cardiovascular risk prediction varies by neighborhood socioeconomic position: A retrospective cohort study
Annals of Internal Medicine Sep 02, 2017
Dalton JE, et al. – The spatial link between neighborhood disadvantage and major atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)Ârelated events were gauged in this study. It also analyzed the relative extent to which neighborhood disadvantage and physiologic risk accounted for neighborhood–level variation in ASCVD event rates. It was demonstrated that neighborhood disadvantage could serve as a powerful regulator of ASCVD event risk. Along with supplemental risk models and clinical screening criteria, population–based solutions were warranted to ameliorate the deleterious effects of neighborhood disadvantage on health outcomes.
