Ability of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs to prevent or delay rheumatoid arthritis onset: A systematic literature review and meta-analysis
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Jun 14, 2018
Hilliquin S, et al. - Researchers evaluated the effectiveness of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs in preventing or delaying rheumatoid arthritis (RA) onset with a systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis (MA). They searched PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane databases for English articles published from 2006 to 2016 using the keywords ‘undifferentiated arthritis’ or ‘very early rheumatoid arthritis’ with ‘therapy’ or ‘treatment’. A significant reduction in the risk of RA onset in this very first phase of the disease could be done with early therapeutic intervention.
