Abdominal wall reconstruction following resection of large abdominal aggressive neoplasms using tensor fascia lata flap with or without mesh reinforcement
Hernia Feb 14, 2018
Song Z, et al. - In this retrospective review, researchers assessed the success of abdominal wall reconstruction following resection of large abdominal aggressive neoplasms using tensor fascia lata flap with or without meshes. They recommended that autologous flaps combined with or without mesh reinforcement should be applied to repair abdominal wall defects caused by neoplasms. As per findings, most type I defects should be primary sutured; type II or III defects should be repaired well by flaps, with or without mesh. In case of the infected or contaminated incision, biological mesh or flaps were the best choice.
