Moscarelli M, et al. - The cardioprotective impacts of propofol and sevoflurane anesthesia were assessed in patients undergoing minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Similar degrees of myocardial injury was noted in relation to propofol and sevoflurane anesthesia, indicating comparable cardioprotection. A direct association of myocardial injury with the duration of cardioplegic arrest was noted.
