A time-dependent propensity score matching approach to assess epinephrine use on patients survival within out-of-hospital cardiac arrest care

Baert V, Hubert H, Chouihed T, et al. - The association between epinephrine use during out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) care and patient 30-day (D30) survival was investigated via analyzing data of 27,008 OHCA patients from the French OHCA registry. After matching, they created 2,837 pairs of patients with a shockable rhythm and 20,950 with a nonshockable rhythm. Findings suggest epinephrine use to be associated with less D30 survival; this was noted irrespective of the patient's rhythm (shockable or nonshockable),
