Bongomin F, et al. - Experts undertook a scrutiny of the prevalence of fluconazole resistance in the clinical isolates of Cryptococcus spp. In Cryptococcus isolates from patients with relapses, fluconazole resistance appeared to be an issue. Whether the relapses occur due to resistance or other factors, remained unclear. Results demonstrated an urgent need for the establishment of antifungal breakpoints for Cryptococcus spp.
