A systematic review of arthroscopic vs open tenotomy of iliopsoas tendonitis after total hip replacement
Arthroscopy Jan 24, 2018
O'Connell RS, et al. - This study involved an analysis of literature data comparing patient outcomes following arthroscopic and open operative management of iliopsoas tendonitis (IPT) following total hip replacement (THR). Findings suggested the efficacy of arthroscopic tenotomy, in comparison to open tenotomy. Furthermore, arthroscopic tenotomy was recognized as a minimally invasive operative technique that may also yield a lower complication rate compared with open tenotomy. For IPT, including those with signs of mechanical impingement, both arthroscopic and open tenotomy were shown to be successful treatment options and were recommended prior to cup revision.
