A systematic review and meta-analysis of second-line therapies for treatment of mesothelioma
Respiratory Medicine Jul 08, 2018
Petrelli F, et al. - Researchers carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of cytostatic or targeted therapy for treating malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). They searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Embase databases to identify published articles assessing second-line treatments for recurrent or advanced mesothelioma. Forty-nine eligible studies were identified. Study data was not conclusive about the ideal second-line agent for MPM. During or after first-line therapy, palliative chemotherapy or other experimental agents could be considered for subjects with MPM who want further treatment after their disease had progressed.
