van Dijk ST, et al. - The goal of this research was to gauge the safety and cost savings of outpatient treatment in the case of acute colonic diverticulitis. Low readmission rates and very low rates of complications were discovered with the outpatient treatment of uncomplicated diverticulitis. Findings also unveiled notable healthcare cost savings. Hence, it was deduced that the outpatient treatment of uncomplicated diverticulitis was a safe option for most patients.
