Ciria R, et al. - Via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers compared the short- and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic and open liver resections for colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). They identified 194 manuscripts initially; meta-analysis included 21 of these, including results from the first randomized trial comparing open and laparoscopic resections of CRLM. Improved short-term outcomes with comparable long-term outcomes were reported with laparoscopic liver resection for CRLM offers when compared to the open approach.
