A systematic review and meta‐analysis of the relationship between erectile dysfunction and the neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte and platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratios
Andrologia Dec 14, 2021
Zhang Y, Feng X, Wu X, et al. - Findings of this meta-analysis strongly corroborate the relationship between NLR, PLR and erectile dysfunction (ED). Elevated NLR and PLR should represent independent risk factors for ED.
This meta-analysis included studies comparing the hematological parameter (at least NLR, PLR) between ED patients and healthy controls (7 studies with a total of 929 ED patients and 737 healthy controls).
By pooled results, NLR values differed statistically significantly between ED patients and healthy controls (standardized mean difference, SMD: 0.53, 95% CI: 0.24–0.82).
Higher PLR values in ED patients vs healthy controls were demonstrated by pooled results from the 6 studies (SMD: 0.70, 95%CI: 0.12–1.28).
