A subjective rating scale for initial assessment of sudden unilateral sensorineural hearing loss
Audiology and Neurotology Oct 13, 2017
Ungar OJ, et al. - This trial effectuated an estimation of the value of a subjective numerical rating scale (NRS) in the initial analysis of patients with suspected unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). It was noted that along with the patient's history and physical examination, the NRS could be beneficial in the preliminary examination of patients with suspected SSNHL until the availability of a formal audiogram. The NRS score of 3 or more reliably speculated the necessity of treating the patients with steroids according to the accepted criteria, in the scale of 1-6.
