Datta R, et al. - This study involves assessment of the efficacy of stellate ganglion blocks (SGBs) in complex regional pain syndromes (CRPS) of the upper body. Herein, relative safety, as well as efficacy of SGB, was evident, as a management option in patients with neuropathic conditions already on pharmacotherapy. For both spontaneous and provoked pain, an average attenuation in pain by >3 numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) points from the baseline, was attained with serial blocks, with a reported decrease in mean Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score and improvement in range of motion.
