A spectrum including features of psoriasis and pityriasis rubra pilaris

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Mar 01, 2018

Craiglow BG, et al. - The clinical characteristics, family history, and response to therapy in patients having papulosquamous eruptions because of mutations in CARD14 were evaluated herein. Characteristics of both psoriasis and pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) were displayed in many cases having CARD14 mutations. The term CARD14-associated papulosquamous eruption (CAPE) was proposed by the experts for describing this spectrum of disease. Cases presenting with the clinical features suggestive of CAPE ought to undergo CARD14 sequencing and could benefit from treatment with ustekinumab.
