Journal of Electrocardiology May 25, 2018
Li Y, et al. - In this single-center retrospective study, researches evaluate the clinical utility of insertable cardiac monitor (ICM) in patients with a variety of clinical presentations. For clinical indications of unexplained syncope, cryptogenic stroke, unexplained infrequent palpitations and AF management, ninety-five consecutive patients (median age 68 years) received ICM Reveal LINQ. In patients with a variety of clinical presentations, substantial expected and unexpected clinical utility offered by ICM (Reveal LINQ) was evident. The causes of nearly one third of patients receiving ICM for unexplained syncope were unrelated to cardiac arrhythmia. Therapeutic interventions were required for nearly one fifth of patients with newly diagnosed arrhythmia from ICM.
