A scoring system for prediction of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
American Journal of Neuroradiology Jun 16, 2019
Chung MS, et al. - Via a study of a cohort that included 476 cervical lymph nodes from 191 patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, the contributors intended to construct a predictive model with a risk scoring system based on CT characteristics to stratify the risk of lymph node metastasis. An association between the risk of malignancy that ranged from 7.3% to 99.8% with increased scores was seen. Hence, a comprehensive and simple risk scoring system using CT characteristics to stratify the risk of lymph node metastasis was built, hence, facilitating decision-making in daily practice.
