A risk-scoring model for predicting lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer patients: A retrospective study and external validation
Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery Aug 30, 2018
Gu L, et al. - Researchers aimed at identifying the risk factors for lymph node metastasis (LNM) and construct a risk-scoring model for patients with early gastric cancer to guide treatment. They obtained data via retrospectively examining reports and studies carried out in January 2000 and December 2014 to develop an 11-point risk-scoring model to predict LNM risk. As per the multivariate analysis, female, depressed type, undifferentiated type, submucosa, tumor size, and lymphovascular invasion were significantly associated with LNM. Findings support the validity of this risk-scoring model. It might help with personalized care for patients with EGC.
