Journal of Ovarian Research Aug 24, 2017
Zhang N et al. – This retrospective study evaluated reproductive outcomes post fertility–sparing surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in malignant ovarian germ cell tumors (MOGCT) and sex cord–stromal tumors (SCST). This study reported favorable reproductive outcomes after fertility–sparing surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in MOGCT and SCST; however, there is a need for education and consultation.
Methods
- Data from 32 patients with MOGCT and 9 with SCST (aged 18–35 years) treated from October 2003 to October 2013 were collected and analyzed.
Results
- After an average follow–up of 86.3 ± 34.4 months and an average chemotherapy course of 4.4 ± 1.3 times, all patients were alive.
- Overall, 75.6% of patients reported normal menstrual cycles, 29.3% wished to conceive, 83.3% naturally conceived, and 66.7% had live birth.
