A real-world experience of drug-eluting and nondrug-eluting stents in lower extremity peripheral arterial disease
Journal of Vascular Surgery Jul 25, 2018
Kibrik P, et al. - Via performing a retrospective review of all inpatient infrainguinal lower extremity endovascular procedures between January 2014 and September 2016 that involved stent implantation, they presented a real-world experience of drug-eluting vs nondrug-eluting stents in lower extremity peripheral arterial disease. As per outcomes, the use of nondrug-eluting stent or drug-eluting stent does not lead to a statistically significant difference in the rate of thrombosis, restenosis, ipsilateral reintervention, or ipsilateral amputation during a 2-year period in the common femoral artery, superficial femoral artery, and above-knee popliteal artery.
