A randomized trial of phenylephrine infusion vs bolus dosing for nausea and vomiting during Cesarean delivery in obese women
Canadian Journal of Anesthesia Dec 10, 2017
George RB, et al. - In this study, obese patients who received a prophylactic phenylephrine infusion and those who received bolus dosing for the treatment of spinal-induced hypotension were compared in terms of the incidence of intraoperative nausea and vomiting (IONV). Less intraoperative nausea, less need for rescue antiemetics, and reduced early postoperative vomiting were noted in relation to prophylactic phenylephrine infusion in obese women undergoing Cesarean delivery with spinal anesthesia.
