A randomized, split‐face, double‐blind, comparative study of the safety and efficacy of small‐ and large‐particle hyaluronic acid fillers for the treatment of nasolabial folds
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Oct 02, 2020
Nikolis A, Enright KM, Öhrlund Å, et al. - Since hyaluronic acid (HA) injections for tissue augmentation are one of the most common aesthetic treatments performed worldwide, however, few studies have compared the safety and effectiveness of small‐ and large‐particle HA (SP‐HA; LP‐HA), researchers used prospective, split‐face, triple‐blind study design to evaluate and compare the effectiveness and safety of SP‐HA and LP‐HA for the correction of nasolabial folds (NLFs). The sample consisted of 10 female participants. Adverse events (AEs) were assessed by the investigator and reported in diaries by the participants. According to findings, LP‐HA shows better effectiveness for correcting bony resorption in the nasal pyriform region. Throughout the trial, there were no serious AEs or AEs linked to the investigational device.
