Kaur H, et al. - A sum of 140 participants were randomized to assess the consequences of verbal behavior modification, acetaminophen, and the combination of verbal behavior modification and acetaminophen on orthodontic pain in orthodontic fixed appliance cases. Candidates were categorized into 4 groups viz, group A with acetaminophen administration, group B with verbal behavior modification, group C with acetaminophen as well as verbal behavior modification, and group D, placebo-controlled. They found group A with less mean pain intensity than group B at 6 hours and at 1 and 2 days. Whereas group C subjects met with less mean pain intensity as compared to group B patients at 6 hours and at 1, 2, and 4 days. They observed a statistical difference between groups A and C in pain intensity after 6 hours and at day 4 after separator placement. Overall, they preferred acetaminophen with verbal behavior for orthodontic pain decline.
