A randomized non-inferiority trial of adductor canal block for analgesia after total knee arthroplasty: Single injection vs. catheter technique

Journal of Arthroplasty Nov 21, 2017

Lee S, et al. - In this study, researchers tested their hypothesis that adductor canal blocks (ACB) single injection plus intravenous (IV) dexamethasone (Dex) shows non-inferiority to catheter for analgesia after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), while ACB single injection does not. Findings revealed that single injection ACB, with and without IV dexamethasone was non-inferior to ACB catheters in 24h opioid consumption and thus could be considered as attractive options for early discharge fast track TKA.
