A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase III trial of duloxetine in Japanese patients with knee pain due to osteoarthritis
Journal of Pain Research Apr 25, 2018
Uchio Y, et al. - The efficacy and safety of duloxetine were examined in Japanese patients with knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Patients with knee osteoarthritis showed reduced pain and improved function with duloxetine, without indicating X-ray abnormalities or altered knee joint mobility. Improved health-related quality of life (HRQoL) was noted in response to the reduced pain. Adverse events were noted in ≥5% of patients that were more frequent in the duloxetine than the placebo group. These included somnolence, constipation, dry mouth, nausea, malaise, and decreased appetite.
