Li Q, et al. - Researchers undertook a randomized controlled trial that compared ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane block with local anesthetic infiltration in peritoneal dialysis catheter implantation. Findings revealed that the ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane block had better analgesic effect than LAI and can be used as a principal anesthesia technique for peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter implantation in end-stage renal disease patients without previous abdominal surgery.
