A randomized controlled trial of arthroscopic capsular release vs hydrodilatation in the treatment of primary frozen shoulder
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jun 01, 2018
Gallacher S, et al. - Authors ascertained if the Oxford Shoulder Score (OSS) differs between patients with frozen shoulder randomized to treatment with arthroscopic capsular release (ACR) or hydrodilatation (HD). They randomized the patients presenting with severe idiopathic frozen shoulder deemed suitable for surgical intervention by a consultant shoulder surgeon to ACR or HD. A significantly higher OSS at 6 months was reported by patients randomized to ACR vs those randomized to HD. Nonetheless, significant improvement was demonstrated by the both groups.
