A radiomics nomogram for preoperative prediction of clinical occult lymph node metastasis in cT1-2N0M0 solid lung adenocarcinoma
Cancer Management and Research Nov 02, 2021
Zhang R, Zhang R, Luan T, et al. - A nomogram consisting of clinical and radiomics factors was developed as well as validated, which can be tailored for the individualized preoperative prediction of clinical occult lymph node metastasis (cOLNM) in early-stage solid lung adenocarcinoma cases.
This study involved 244 patients with clinical T1-2N0M0 solid lung adenocarcinoma who had preoperative contrast-enhanced chest computed tomography (CT).
Records of 851 radiomics features of each primary tumor were obtained.
The predictive model comprised a clinical factor (CT-reported tumor size) as well as a radiomics feature (Rad-score).
Good discrimination was afforded by the nomogram, with a C-index of 0.782 in the primary cohort and 0.813 in the validation cohort.
The nomogram also presented good calibration.
Clinical usefulness of the radiomics nomogram was evident in decision curve analysis.
