Muzumdar S, et al. - In this study, the researchers compared the SOX10 and MART-1 immunostaining for detecting the melanocytic hyperplasia in the chronically sun-damaged skin. They found that in distinguishing epidermal melanocytes on the sun-damaged skin, SOX10 displayed more specificity than MART-1, thereby avoiding overdiagnosis of melanoma.
