A prospective study on the changes and clinical significance of pre-operative and post-operative circulating tumor cells in resectable gastric cancer
Journal of Translational Medicine Jun 25, 2018
Zhang Q, et al. - This prospective study was conducted to evaluate pre- and post-operative circulating tumor cell (CTC) changes in resectable gastric cancer and possible correlations to post-operative recurrence. From July 2013 to December 2014, subjects with resectable gastric cancer were prospectively reviewed at Peking University Cancer Hospital. It was observed that pre- and post-operative CTCs were promising prognostic markers for resectable gastric cancer. Results of this study suggested that increased post-operative CTCs could be associated with hematogenous recurrence.
