A prospective study of treatments for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and fecundability
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Feb 07, 2020
Wise LA, Willis SK, Perkins RB, et al. - Researchers investigated how cervical intraepithelial neoplasia treatments influence fecundability. Data from Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO), a prospective cohort study of North American pregnancy planners enrolled during 2013−2019, were analyzed. Outcomes revealed a little correlation of a history of abnormal Papanicolaou test results with fecundability. Besides, no substantial association between the receipt of colposcopy or treatment procedures, and time since treatment and fecundability was identified. Stratification based on age and smoking status did not change the results. Findings thereby support the majority of previous works that indicated a little effect of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia treatments on future fertility.
