A prospective randomized study comparing jumbo biopsy forceps to cold snare for the resection of diminutive colorectal polyps
Surgical Endoscopy Jun 13, 2019
Desai S, et al. - Researchers compared cold jumbo forceps polypectomy and cold snare polypectomy for the resection of diminutive colorectal polyps with respect to their incomplete resection rate (IRR). In addition, they compared the rates of tissue retrieval and rates of procedure-related complications. Evaluation of the resection quality was done in 151 patients with 261 polyps ≤ 6 mm. A small but potentially significant percentage of cases had incompletely resected colon polyps. The use of cold jumbo forceps and cold snare had similar IRR. Compared to using cold snare, cold jumbo forceps may result in more successful tissue retrieval.
