Reichert JC, et al. - In this prospective randomized controlled single-center study, experts compared the clinical outcome up to 12 months after total hip arthroplasty (THA) using a minimally invasive single-incision direct anterior approach (DAA) and a direct transgluteal lateral approach. After 1 year, a higher patient activity was resulted by THA through the direct anterior approach vs THA utilizing a transgluteal lateral approach while differences regarding hip function were observable.
