International Journal of Dermatology Sep 16, 2021
Caumes E, Marty M, Cadot M, et al. - In practice, two applications of 10% benzyl benzoate emulsion 8 days apart resulted in good cure rates in patients with common scabies.
It was a prospective, multicenter, French observational study.
The cohort consisted of 116 of the 186 patients in the registry.
There were 14 patients in the cohort who were not in the registry, bringing the total number of patients in the cohort to 130.
On day 28, 119/130 patients had been clinically cured.
Dermoscopy confirmed the cure in 44 of the 47 patients (93%).
At week 12, 82% of the 130 patients had been cured.
The cure rate at week 12 was 89.9% of the 119 patients who were healed at day 28.
