Harvey EM, et al. - Authors ascertained if uncorrected astigmatism in toddlers was related to the poorer performance on the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, 3rd edition (BSITD-III). As per data, an association of uncorrected astigmatism in toddlers with with poorer performance on cognitive and language tasks was seen. Significantly poorer mean scores on the Cognitive and Language scales and the Receptive Communication Language subscale were noted in children with moderate/high astigmatism vs children with no/low refractive error.
