A prediction model for the 40-year risk of knee osteoarthritis in adolescent men

Arthritis Care & Research Aug 03, 2018

Magnusson K, et al. - Researchers sought to simplify the previously published Nottingham 12-year risk prediction model for knee osteoarthritis (OA) and assess if it can be used to predict the 40-year risk of knee OA in young men. From a few easily measured covariates with moderate discrimination, they noted the predictability of the individual and population 40-year risk of knee OA in 18-year olds. Results demonstrated the predictability of the discrimination of this simplified model based on data available in adolescence to that of the full Nottingham model in middle age.
