Sexually Transmitted Diseases Apr 23, 2018
Khosropour CM, et al. - Washington State surveillance data was utilized to identify women 14 years or older with urogenital Chlamydia trachomatis [CT](1992–2015) treated with azithromycin or doxycycline and to estimate the adjusted relative risk (aRR) of persistent/recurrent infection associated with the two treatment regimen. Adjusting for age, race/ethnicity, year, pregnancy status, jurisdiction reporting, reason for examination, and gonorrhea coinfection, women treated with azithromycin vs doxycycline were significantly more likely to have persistent/recurrent urogenital CT.
