A polymethyl methacrylate-based acrylic dental resin surface bound with a photoreactive polymer inhibits accumulation of bacterial plaque
The International Journal of Prosthodontics Nov 08, 2017
Fukunishi M, et al. - This research was designed to investigate the ability of a poly (2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine-co-n-butylmethacrylate-co-2-methacryloyloxyethyloxy-p-azidobenzoate) (PMBPAz) coating on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)Âbased dental resin to inhibit bacterial plaque formation, as well as the polymerÂs durability against water soaking and chemical exposure. The researchers suggested that for inhibiting denture plaque accumulation, PMBPAz coating could represent a useful modification to PMMA surfaces.
