Wanitphakdeedecha R, et al. - Experts conducted an experimental, randomized, controlled double-blind study to compare the effectiveness and safety of PRA and onabotulinumtoxin A (ONA) for gastrocnemius muscle reduction. In gastrocnemius muscle reduction, comparable efficacy and safety of PRA and ONA was noted in the findings. They noted 35.42 ± 1.35 cm and 36.49 ± 2.98 cm, respectively, to be the mean calf circumference of the ONA- and PRA-treated patients in upright position at baseline. Between both groups, no statistically significant difference was seen by the patients’ satisfaction rate and doctor's evaluation.
