A patient dose-reduction technique for neuroendovascular image-guided interventions: Image-quality comparison study
American Journal of Neuroradiology Apr 17, 2018
Sonig A, et al. - The image quality of simulated neurointerventions with regular and reduced radiation doses were comparatively assessed with the aid of a standard flat panel detector system. For this study, 10 3D-printed intracranial aneurysm models were generated on the basis of a single patient vasculature derived from intracranial DSA and CTA. Findings reported the achievement of a significant dose reduction (62%) with a live peripheral image without compromising feature visibility during neuroendovascular interventions. No notable variation was discovered in the mean scores for regular-dose intervention and ROI dose-reduced intervention images, indicating similar image quality.
