A novel technique for endobronchial blocker placement for one-lung ventilation in children under 2 years
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica Mar 13, 2018
Guo X, et al. - Herein, researchers describe their clinical experience with intraluminal calculated distance for endobronchial blocker placement (ICEB). They also investigated if ICEB could attenuate the number of hypoxemia episodes during blocker placement compared with extraluminal blocker placement for one-lung ventilation in children under the age of 2 years. For achieving lung isolation, the feasibility of intraluminal calculated distance for endobronchial blocker placement was demonstrated. Moreover, this method could bring about reduction in hypoxemia episodes during blocker placement in children under the age of 2 years.
