A novel nomogram for prediction of early postoperative complications of total gastrectomy for gastric cancer
Cancer Management and Research Oct 06, 2021
Zhang J, Jiang L, , et al. - Using indicators available before and during surgery, researchers herein developed a nomogram model that would aid in predicting early postoperative complications of total gastrectomy (TG) for gastric cancer (GC).
A total of 363 patients with GC who underwent TG were involved in this retrospective study.
Independent risk factors for early postoperative complications were linear stapler, age, blood transfusion (yes), one-time consumables for surgery, number of total lymph nodes and number of positive lymph nodes.
The risk factors were used to construct the nomogram model.
The model has good accuracy as exhibited by calibration curves.
