A novel modification of transurethral enucleation and resection of the prostate in patients with prostate glands larger than 80 ml: Surgical procedures and clinical outcomes
Urology Dec 07, 2017
Li K, et al. - A comparative examination was carried out of the efficacy and safety of the modified transurethral enucleation and resection of the prostate (M-TUERP) vs conventional bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (B-TURP) for the treatment of prostates larger than 80 ml. The intended modifications of TUERP procedure appeared to be a safe and effective technique for the surgical treatment of large-volume benign prostatic hyperplasia. It could simplify the surgical procedures, reduce complications, lower difficulties and shorten the learning curve. A superior and durable clinical outcome was illustrated by the M-TUERP when compared to the B-TURP, at 3-year follow-up.
