A novel endoscopic grading system for prediction of disease-related outcomes in patients with diverticulosis
The American Journal of Surgery May 18, 2018
Dean M, et al. - A simple endoscopic grading system of diverticular disease was described for the assessment of disease severity and prediction of outcomes. It seems that the risk of developing symptomatic diverticular disease could be predicted via endoscopic grading. Based on the number and size of diverticula, the degree of muscular hypertrophy and rigidity of the sigmoid colon, a single endoscopist prospectively graded disease severity. As per observations, researchers recommended surgeons to consider using an endoscopic grading system as an adjunct to clinical management decisions.
