A novel electrocardiographic parameter for diagnosis of acute pulmonary embolism: RS time
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Sep 08, 2018
Rencuzogullari I, et al. - In patients admitted to the emergency department and pre-diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism (PE), researchers investigated the diagnostic value of QRS duration and RS time in inferolateral leads by retrospectively analyzing 136 consecutive patients who underwent computerized tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA) to confirm PE diagnosis. Outcomes suggest that for each patient, RS time could be measured as a novel ECG parameter. They realized a potential utility of longer RS time for diagnosing acute PE and for estimating RV end-diastolic diameter and SPAP.
