A nomogram to predict outcomes of lung cancer patients after pneumonectomy based on 47 indicators
Cancer Medicine Jan 12, 2020
Cheng B, Wang C, Zou B, et al. - Taking patients' characteristics and potential hematological biomarkers into account, researchers intended to develop a nomogram for lung cancer in this study. They retrospectively examined a Discovery group including 100 patients and a Validation group including 111 patients. They sorted 47 indexes into eight subgroups. In the predictive nomogram, they enrolled five components based on cox regression analysis. They noted great concordance between nomogram predicted likelihood of 3- and 5-year overall survival and the actual observations. When compared with pathological tumor-node-metastasis staging system, better risk stratification of patients, as well as better accuracy in predicting patients' survival, were provided by this nomogram. This nomogram developed for the prognosis of lung cancer can assist in treatment selection and clinical care management.
