A nomogram to predict mortality in patients with severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome at the early stage—A multicenter study in China
PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases Dec 05, 2019
Wang L, Wan G, Shen Y, et al. - Data on consecutive individuals in whom severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) had been diagnosed were prospectively collected from five medical centers distributed in central and northeastern China to investigate the clinical information of people with early-stage SFTS, and to ascertain a nomogram for mortality risk. During the study period, 429 consecutive people were given diagnoses of early-state SFTS (within 7 days of fever). A modest and effective clinical scoring system was developed, through which one could identify critically sick people and provide intensive medical intervention as soon as possible to decrease mortality.
