A nomogram predicting overall survival in patients with non-metastatic pancreatic head adenocarcinoma after surgery: A population-based study
BMC Cancer May 13, 2021
Zou W, Wang Z, Wang F, et al. - This research sought to create a better nomogram to predict overall survival after resection of non-metastatic pancreatic head adenocarcinoma (PHAC). Researchers collected patients with non-metastatic PHAC from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and divided them randomly into training and validation cohorts at a ratio of 7:3. They used Cox regression analysis to screen prognostic factors and construct the nomogram. In this study, 6419 patients with non-metastatic PHAC who underwent surgery were collected from the SEER database between 2010 and 2016. This study’s findings demonstrate that the nomogram has an ability to prognosticate overall survival after resection of non-metastatic PHAC and includes prognostic factors that are easy to obtain in clinical practice. Moreover, it would guide clinicians to conduct personalized medicine.
