A new risk locus in CHCHD5 for hypertension and obesity in a Chinese child population: A cohort study
BMJ Open Sep 14, 2017
Wu L, et al. - This research was meant to examine the associations of the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs3748024 with hypertension and obesity. Findings revealed that the SNP rs3748024 in coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix domain containing 5 (CHCHD5) was associated with systolic blood pressure (SBP), body mass index (BMI), obesity and triglycerides in Chinese children. Investigations highlighted a new risk locus for hypertension and obesity in the child population. However, further studies were required to explore the pathogenic role of CHCHD5 in hypertension and obesity.
