The Clinical Journal of Pain Sep 15, 2017
McWilliams LA, et al. - This study was meant to illustrate the network of depressive symptoms in individuals with chronic pain. Moreover, the physicians described the potential of network analysis for generating new research questions and treatment strategies. The current findings were supportive of a model in which depressive symptoms were causally connected to a network rather than being manifestations of a common underlying disorder, consistent with past research with patients undergoing treatment for major depression. The research and clinical implications of the findings like developing treatments targeting the most central symptoms were discussed.
